Senegal, located in Western Africa, is officially known as the Republic of Senegal. Senegal is a member of the World Trade Organization. The country attracts most of its foreign investment from fish, phosphates, groundnuts, tourism and services. The most important economy sector of the nation, in terms of export, is fishing. The main cash crop of the country along with main agricultural export is peanuts. Other crops of Senegal include millet, corn, sorghum, rice and vegetables. Chief industries of the country are agricultural and fish processing, phosphate mining, fertilizer production, petroleum refining, iron ore, zircon, gold mining, construction materials and ship construction & repair. |
